Privacy Policy

Last Updated August 2025

Your privacy is very important to us at Aaloraa. This policy informs you how we obtain, use and safeguard your personal data. While we do not purposely obtain personal data, we strive to obtain only information necessary for us to serve you better. We treat sensitive and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) seriously and at all times, we process data in accordance with any Data Protection Legislation applicable to us.

This Privacy Policy is, along with our Terms of Use and any other document referred to in this Privacy Policy, the entire arrangement about the way we will handle your data.

It is important to understand our limitations. If you elect to contact a different 'Offeror User' (as that term is defined in our Terms of Use) using information that a Offeror User posted on our website (e.g., contact information contained in an ad, or profile), we do not take responsibility for subsequent transfer of your data. At that point the Offeror User becomes the data controller in relation to any personal information you provide to them. We have no ability to exercise control over, and therefore accept no responsibility for the way they collect, use, or protect your PII. data once it leaves our platform.

What Information We Collect

We collect personal information directly from you when you interact with our Site. This includes:

  • From Users who create listings or profiles: We collect and hold the content (and any details therein) which you provide voluntarily for your advertisements or profiles. This normally, at the least, includes, your email address and any information you make public as part of your advertisement or profile. You decide what information you submit, and, by nature of the word, you do not have to submit optional information.
  • From users who have browsed the site and have contacted members: We hold your email address and any information you provide when you reach out to a user that has placed an advertisement.

When We Collect Information

We only collect information when it is:

  • For a lawful purpose that is properly connected with a function, activity, or purpose of the Site; or
  • Deemed necessary for the purpose that sensitive personal data or information was collected for.

Our Legal Basis for Data Collection

  • For users who create a profile or listing: Our basis for processing your data is the performance of a contract with you and the Site (e.g., to publish your listing or profile) and for other information that you voluntarily provide and make public, the legal basis would be consent.
  • For users who browse and contact other users: The legal basis for collecting your data is provided in your consent at the time you submitted your information.
  • Legitimate Interests: We also process your data where we have a legitimate interest in so doing, where your rights and freedoms as a data subject are preserved. Those legitimate interests might include business administration (e.g. is the Site working by verifying usage), preventing fraud, and ensuring compliance the law.

How We Collect and Use Information

Log Files

As you visit our Site, our servers automatically log certain technical information about your visit. This 'log data,' which comes from your browser, is usually IP address, type of browser, referring pages, time and date of visit.

We use this information to:

  • Analyze broad usage trends (e.g., which pages are most popular).
  • Administer and secure the Site.
  • Gather general demographic insights about our audience.

Cookies

Like many websites, we use small data files called "cookies" that are placed on your device. Simply put, Cookies are tiny text files on your computer or mobile device. Cookies do not store any personal information about you, but they help us understand how you use our Site and services and how we can improve your experience.

Session Cookies

Session cookies are temporary in nature and will be deleted from your device when you close your browser. Without session cookies, the basic functions of the site will not be accessible for the period that you are on our site.

Persistent Cookies

Persistent cookies stay on your device for a specified amount of time (for example, a few days, weeks, or even months) or by you deleting them. Persistent cookies help us remember your preferences in the future.

Web Beacons

"Web beacons" (sometimes referred to as "clear gifs" or "pixel tags") are small invisible image files used in our web pages or our emails. In addition to cookies, we use web beacons to help us understand which pages are popular or how visitors navigate our site. Web beacons also help let us know if we sent an email and the recipient actually opened the email and/or clicked on links. Web beacons do NOT collect any information that would personally identify you and any data we collect remains anonymous. Any information collected will help improve our services overall.

Third-party Cookie

We use mainly "third-party cookies" from trusted companies, such as Google Analytics and Hotjar, for anonymous statistical purposes. All of the third-party data collected through cookies is used only in aggregate, and nothing that allows us to identify you personally is at all possible. Like tracking pixels, we don't know who you are; thus, the information we receive safely treats you as an anonymous person.

Your cookie choice

As your use of our Site, you can decide to accept or reject cookies. Once you log in to the Site, we will ask you to consent to accept cookies. You can agree, or directly manage your preferences through your browser settings. There are necessary cookies for the Site to function properly. If we try to place only necessary cookies and your browser doesn't let us, typical web features may not work properly, and your overall experience may be different.

To manage cookies in your browser, check the "Help" in the toolbar of your browser. More details on how to manage cookies can be found at https://www.allaboutcookies.org/. Keep in mind that cookies are device specific, and if you want to apply your cookie preferences to multiple devices, you will have to set on all devices.
